O 73º Emmy Awards divulgou sua lista de indicados para esse ano, abrangendo as produções lançadas entre 01/06/2020 e 31/05/2021. Contando com seu streaming HBO Max, a HBO conseguiu liderar com 130 indicações, seguida pela Netflix com 129 no total.
Sem nenhuma surpresa, a série mais indicada foi The Crown, mas dessa vez teve empate com The Mandalorian do Disney+, cada uma com 24 indicações, mas WandaVision também chegou bem perto, sendo indicada 23 vezes.
Seguindo o exemplo das últimas premiações, o Emmy também está fazendo história no quesito representatividade esse ano com a atriz Mj Rodriguez, que se tornou a primeira mulher trans indicada na categoria de Melhor Atriz por seu papel como Blanca na série Pose, que chegou ao fim esse ano.
A cerimônia, que será a primeira pós-pandemia nos EUA e contará com plateia, acontecerá em 19 de setembro no Microsoft Theater em Los Angeles.
