O filme conta a história de Mitch Rapp, que devastado pela morte de sua namorada, é recrutado pela CIA para ser treinado por Stan Hurley, veterano da Guerra Fria. Juntos, os dois agentes irão enfrentar, em uma missão de vingança, um grupo de terroristas.
